Israeli politician Shelly Tal Meron has claimed Israel does not target civilians and that accusations it is committing genocide at the Liberal Democrat party conference make her feel “uncomfortable”.
The third largest party in the British parliament has become increasingly strident in its approach to the genocide in Gaza.
Just days ago party leader Ed Davey accused Israel of committing genocide for the first time. He boycotted the royal banquet for Wednesday night in honour of visiting US President Donald Trump, in protest over his support for Israel’s military operations in Gaza.
A country thats government supports Israel. (Unfortunately)
And where the next election is clearly going to bring changes in what parties are mainstream,
It is very likely some form of coalition government will be likely. Unless things change dramatically.
ATM polling indicates reform plus Tories would not have the seats to form such. (Although unless the left can unify. That is likely to change)
So Israel is likely trying to effect the most likely coalition partners that will disagree with them.
We don’t though.
We banned weapons exports, publicly denounced them for war crimes, sanctioned a bunch of members of their parliament, ramped up aid for Palestine, committed to arresting Netanyahu and several other Israeli politicians should they ever set foot here, and have just recognised Palestine.
Israel in response have said we are an anti-Semitic state with an anti-Semite leader.
There has been a massive shift in the past year.
