The chancellor and shadow chancellor made a series of claims the morning after Rachel Reeves blamed the Conservatives for a funding shortfall.

“Those public finances were audited by the OBR just 10 weeks before the election was called,” Mr Hunt told MPs on Monday.

But the head of the OBR wrote a letter on Tuesday saying that he had only been made aware of some of the pressures last week.

He’s so worried about it that he has set up a review to assess the information provided to the OBR by the Treasury ahead of the Budget

    Is there any way that this could lead to criminal charges for Hunt? £22bn is an enormous level of malfeasance if Reeves’s allegations hold up, which they have so far, based on the OBR’s reaction.

    Anyway it’s consistent with Hunt’s long record of attempting to sabotage the NHS and other state programmes that benefit people who aren’t rich.
