I am filled with disgust.

The Supreme Court is temporarily blocking a judge’s order requiring Donald Trump’s administration to fully fund a critical food assistance program that has stranded millions of Americans and their families after the government failed to keep it afloat at the start of the month.

And a nontrivial amount of confusion

But the administration is simultaneously telling states that it will immediately begin funding the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program after a weeklong lapse — the first in the program’s 61-year history.

I’m wondering how they’re going to use this opportunity to continue to prioritize cruelty.

Edit: I am no longer filled with disgust about this particular choice as I see that in doing this, Justice Brown has, quite counterintuitively, most likely made it so that people get food sooner.

That’s the way I read it too. It’s making its way to the supreme courts eventually, but by ruling the way she did it reduces the ability for the conservative justices to drag their feet before ruling and delaying it much more before sending it back down to the lower court for clarification or a new decision and causing a bigger delay.
