8·3 months agoSweet! Single-file looks like a decent workaround for those links that get locked behind captcha when they’re being saved. Always frustrates me when I go to review a link and it turns out it only saved a cloudflare redirect lol

Open Source@lemmy.ml•Are there any alternatives to the Internet Archive that are built around P2P, so that everyone can contribute to hosting/sharing web archives?
51·1 year agoNo, closest thing is to join a datahoarder group and trade when needed.

5·1 year agoMatrix does not have seamless desktop sharing or voice chat, and has a drastically higher executive cost. It also does not solve the information silo issue.
The fediverse as a whole is promising but likely needs to mature a bit longer. Theres a lot of potential issues that have yet to be worked through.

9·1 year agoI’ve been trying to find a more privacy-friendy alternative to Discord but I keep coming back to the issue of screen sharing. No other platform does it as smoothly.
The best I’ve found is using Parsec with some virtual audio cables to avoid voice feedback.
With the right tools and steady hands, its very straightforward.
