Is this somewhat normal for installing Linux on an old macbook? Everything I install Linux on these days…everything just works. I haven’t gone through something like this in ages. But I have considered getting and old macbook air and putting Linux on it. This is making me think they don’t function very well een though it is intel?

At this point, why is anyone using Ubuntu for desktop? You have soooo many options
2·6 months agoHonestly I recommend the version made specifically for your distro. I haven’t had the best luck with flatpak but the ones made for Debian, rpm, etc always work great
271·6 months agoI am not a programmer. But I have been using github as an end user for years, downloading programs I like and whatnot. Today I realized there are stars on github. Literally never even noticed.
Can anyone give an ELI5 on how hardware attestation works or is implemented on current OSes?

I would choose Manjaro over Ubuntu any day…canonical is garbage
Do you come into issues using it on the steamdeck when it comes to saving games on the micro sd
My personal laptop is an HP elite with a 6850h ryzen and its great. Running Ferdora KDE and works amazing. My wife’s MB air M1 is a little nicer, but macOS…ugh
