  • Can I ask about the change of not keeping record of deleted files after 6 months by default. Does that mean if I sync two directories constantly so that if syncthing sees one of them has a file deleted, it will delete the file on the other too, if I copy back that same file into the synced folder, after 6 months pass Syncthing would sync that file again? Or what else does this mean?

Currently I am just using this to have an easy transfer between two computers, I keep moving out files that have been transferred from both folders, so I would think this has no effect on how I use it?

  • I’ll just start off with some second hand knowledge I cannot promise is correct because I recently learned that secure boot is a bit of a hot mess.

I seem to remember from discussions of recent articles that were about expiration of some widely used keys to run secure boot, that this is something you need to enable when you install your operating system. Unless I misunderstood what people were saying it sounds to me like there is no way to switch it on retroactively, because that pretty much stops your operating system from booting. Similar if you had it on during installation and then switch it off, your system won’t run.

I guess this is to avoid that someone with physical access to your computer can just switch it off, install root kit malware, then switch it back on (or not).

Again. I might be wrong but maybe if you look into that direction you find some more information that helps.

  • So, first of all:

One key issue is “seat spinning,” where bots initiate the booking process but do not complete payment - by hoarding inventory temporarily, they reduce availability and may create a false perception of scarcity, which can influence pricing algorithms.

Pretty sure any “reputable” flight company is already doing that. I am not sure any consumer can really get clear evidence though. They don’t need bots for this, they just tell their booking portal to lie.

    Moving on:

In some cases, bots resell the tickets they secure through “ticket scalping,” pushing genuine customers toward inflated prices or unavailable flights.

Reselling means people book flights via what, eBay? Is there a market for reselling flight tickets? Depending on the country involved, destination and so on these bookings require you to leave a name or even passport details.

I’ve stopped reading after this paragraph. Is this just an AI written article of made up issues?

  • Are these from the epic store? I had the same issue yesterday with a game I installed via Heroic from the Epic Store. First started it from desktop via Heroic, went well. It got added by Heroic to Steam so I tested it in Game mode, worked as well.

Then I switched off and wanted to play again after a few hours, got the same issue as you in Game mode, game starts loading but spinning animation keeps showing and I can hear the menu music.

How I “fixed” it, I went to desktop and added the game as non-steam game myself, so selecting the .exe and adding proton experimental in Game mode for starting. But that made me lose my save game, since I just started it didn’t matter though, might matter for you.
