  • And yet if not for his actions, it would have never come to light that the US military murdered a bunch of innocent people including Reuters journalists in 2007. I know it sucks how Wikileaks curates info, and ideally this should be handled in a way that’s less exploitable by foreign governments, but to me, it seems they are vigilantes doing stuff because the US justice system wouldn’t.

I mean, look at the Trump prosecution. If you had proof of the DNC doing its antidemocratic shit to prevent anyone who is not in big corp pockets getting elected, does the Trump prosecution inspire confidence that if you just made a police report, anything would happen?

  • The smart is now a 4 meters SUV

Is it? I haven’t heard about it, I’ve seen some weird concept picture, but the Fortwo as currently being manufactured is still the same 2.6m long car as it was in 2014 as per Wikipedia.

The Volkswagen up (small 4 person car) is out of production and they’re selling nothing under 4 meters Skoda, after retiring the citigo, has the Fabia that’s relatively small (almost 4 meters) and the rest are huge

They are the same company. The Skoda Citigo and the Seat Mii are both just rebadged Volkswagen Up cars.

The fiat panda (another small 4 person car) is in the process of being redesigned and the mockups look like a huge range rover SUV

Those mockups are actually the redesign of the Panda Cross, which was an SUV-ish thing they introduced in 2014. Fiat still makes the subcompact 500, having recently made an electric version.

Some EU automakers are doing weird stuff, but if you look at the electric car market for example, at lest where I live, locally produced electric kei trucks actually outsold Tesla at some point.

  • I think ARPG is just broader than that. Bethesda games are also described as action RPGs, yet they are neither really about builds or gitting good, it’s more of an exploration / virtual theme park thing.

I think the definition of an ARPG is “an RPG where the player’s skill in controlling the character in an action-game like fashion has a major role in gameplay, as opposed to games where the character stats or strategy is solely decisive”, like in Divinity or most older RPGs.

It’s like when people describe both Doom and Six Days in Fallujah as an FPS, yet they are nothing alike.

That’s about as accurate as if I was adamant that the USA was not pronounced yoo-ess-ey, but ooh-sha, like everyone around me said it for as long as I can remember.

Non-anglophone countries exist, and there are actually more of them with more people than anglophone countries, and most of these projects come from non-anglophone countries.

  • What you’re saying is true, but in my book, a market is not free because of the lack of regulations.

Free markets are not stable things, and without regulation, they fail. Regulation keeps markets free. My definition of a free market is the econ 101 one, which is many competing companies, who all are individually unable to affect market prices. Not the weird ancap one, where we throw the reins in between the horses and let companies consolidate into a fascist dictatorship.

  • I hate the euphemism of “joining”. It’s not a happy union of two groups of like-minded people deciding to pool their resources to better do what they do.

It’s one set of suits paying another set of suits a boatload of money to fuck off, then firing half the people who created the value that made it worth to talk about in the first place.

Acquisitions are not a happy sunshine and rainbows thing, it’s one corporation devouring another to gorge itself ever bigger.
