That’s not completely unreasonable tbh, but I still think the current sanctions are fair if not perfect.
I didn’t purposely misread, this part was just a bit unclear:
If you work for ANY company in ANY country that produces weapons for war

Wouldn’t that stop nearly every country from being able to contribute?
Sounds like a convoluted way of saying to just let the Russians off, veiled as some over the top “consistency” argument.
Maybe let’s do that tho, and just start with Russia 😆
So you think they’re against the invasion of Ukraine, and would like to see Israel hit with sanctions as well?
Because that wasn’t the impression I was getting.
I think we can all agree that what Russia and Israel are doing is horrific. Israel should be sanctioned as well, rather than letting Russia off…

Yeah, Lemmy loves to talk about how this won’t work and they’ve moved to Plex, but overall it’s been working great for Netflix.
Eventually the bubble will burst and people will start to drop Netflix, but that’s a way off.
Mate, they’re people too. They generally don’t care on a personal level, and as you say they prioritise everything else.
Nobody cares about people smoking weed except pearl clutchers.
The fact that houses stink of weed and police walk straight past. There’s a notorious smoking spot around where I live, they don’t bother with it.
I’ve walked past police officers while I smell like weed, if they were to stop everyone like that they’d have their hands full.
As long as you don’t do it directly in front of them and they’re not looking for a reason to arrest you, they’re not gonna bother.
It just surprises me how there seems to be almost no discussion about legalising weed in the UK. It’s really not talked about that much (besides medical use), and I don’t see much push for it either.
I think the government/police are generally happy to ignore it, and smokers are therefore happy to just get on with it.
Would be nice and convenient if I could just buy it from a store though :/
Annapurna claims they didn’t have enough time to collect developer contact information to alert them sooner
I mean, that’s just utter BS. In two weeks you couldn’t find a phone number or email address for your customers??
Sounds like a shit show of a company and the previous employees made the right move.
This isn’t gonna be the last time their own research comes back to bite them, they’ve had 14 years of pot shots at the conservatives.
Far easier to be the opposition and criticise, rather than deal with the reality and make the tough decisions.
Fair enough imo, what’s a kid going to remember, 10 days of school where they spent most their time pissing about, or a family holiday.
I don’t know the ins and outs, but I think there should be a threshold of like 10 days a year where it’s okay, as long as the kid has good attendance besides that and it’s not around exam time.
It’s punching down from the government as it’s a working class issue. Middle class can afford the peak holiday rates, poorer families can’t.
Now that GPU companies and developers seem to be giving some focus to Linux, I don’t know what Microsoft can do.
Windows is bloated to shit and that’s how Microsoft seemingly wants it. Unless they start to offer a stripped down release then I don’t see how it could compete with a Linux based OS going forward. (For handheld consoles).
It’s ridiculous.
There’s one road near me and I usually count over 5 vehicles parked in the cycle lane when I go past.
idk how that can happen, I genuinely think the parking officers just ignore it these days.
They’d rather walk around the car parks checking vehicles than deal with actually troublesome parking.
Like it’s even stopping anyone at this point, see so many private ones out and about.
They are a nightmare on the roads (and pavement), government and councils desperately need to invest in some designated cycle/scooter paths.
And not these bullshit white lines that people park over and drive in constantly.
You haven’t even responded to anything I said, you’ve just gone “I don’t care, I think they should have it”.
I don’t think they should and I’ve explained my thoughts, so agree to disagree 🤷♂️
My understanding was that any tampering by people voting under different names was so ineffective in influencing an election that it’s barely worth trying, and stopping the people who don’t have ID would have a more significant effect.
If someone doesn’t have ID then they probably just don’t want it or would struggle with any system to obtain ID. They should still be allowed to vote.
Wrong. Drugs are too expensive.
The whole point of what I’m saying is that nowhere accepts it and it’s therefore functionality useless for running a business, the point of this post/discussion.
I can easily prove that most retailers don’t accept Monero and it’s therefore basically useless.
It’s a pain in the arse to even buy in the UK, I know because I use it to buy drugs.
Ah yes, the currency that’s pretty much only accepted for buying drugs or anything illegal.
We all know it’s over at this point though.
God help the world. This is all just a big game to some people.
