I wouldn’t have an issue with many different communications platforms if they didn’t all require an account (also Discord not being indexable sucks).

Definitely sounds like it could be real. If I had to guess their mounting a drive (or another partition) and it’s defaulting to read only. When restarting it resets the original permissions as they only updated the file permissions, but not the mount configuration.
Also reads like some of my frustrations when first getting into Linux (and the issues I occasionally run into still).
Just read up more about the systems and always thought they charged you more, didn’t realize that for the time being they are zero interest loans.
Seems unsustainable, but sounds like they’re using the credit card technique of charing the storefront. It’ll be interesting to see where the bnpl industry goes.
Why be the bad guy when you can just enable them.
This is what I was going to say.
On the flip side a lot of places then just become diploma mills pushing international students through programs because they pay full price. You see this a lot in the US, where money is first and quality education second.
Thanks, I’ll have to take a look into that, I can definitely tell the microsd struggles (and it would free up my microsd slot for extra steamos storage).
Is that faster than loading it on a microsd card? That’s how I currently boot windows on my steamdeck, but it’s a little slow to load and initial loads for some games can be painful.
These models are also already open sourced, you can’t stop it. Additionally all of those “requirements” would just mean that AI would only be owned by big corporations.
All I’m hearing is jailtime for Tina Belcher and her erotic friend fiction!
But seriously, i generally agree that as long as people aren’t sharing it shouldn’t be a problem. If I can picture it in my head without consequence, seems kinda silly putting that thought on paper/screen should be illegal.
You can load windows on the steamdeck, nothing is stopping you. I actually have a Bootable microsd with windows to play gamepass games. That being said, the drivers for windows are a bit messy and setting it up is kinda a pain.
It’s possible the article is referring to how they got the training data, but as we’ve been learning from recent reporting, places like cruise were actually hiring people to monitor the “autonomous” systems.
App stores and game engines are examples where you are paying a percentage of revenue. Not that it makes this scenario make any more sense, but there are models out there that operate this way. However, in both you are working in pretty locked down environments.
The download feature is always in some state of broken, but it has gotten a lot better over the past couple of years. If you haven’t tried it in a year or so, you may have better luck now.
