Man, I miss Humble Bundle from before it sold out to IGN.

Man, fuck that judge!
(Read it once as an expression of derision, then again as literal advice.)
Is there even some coreboot or libreboot motherboard for PC that supports “high end” hardware?
As far as I know, the highest-end motherboard that supports Libreboot is an Opteron – not Epyc, Opteron – dual-socket server board from about a decade ago.
I got a copy of Turbolinux 6 from a Hamfest and never managed to get it installed correctly. A few years later, I did succeed in running Debian and Gentoo in college.
Paid proprietary software will too; the likes of Adobe and VMWare prove that.
Now pipe it through lolcat
Yes, I know they rounded up and killed people’s pets and abused the people and whatnot, and it’s been a terrible abusive travesty. I’ve actually been aware of what happened to the Chagossians for years now, long before reading your comment.
My point was just that it was already plenty egregious and inhumane enough without exaggerating. When you say “all the animals” it makes it sound like they annihilated the entire ecosystem, which was within the realm of possibility (again: see Pacific nuclear testing) and therefore possible for someone to misinterpret as literal instead of hyperbole, but not actually what happened.
Torturing the dogs isn’t the same as torturing “all the animals.” Obviously it’s bad, but eliminating a non-native species is not nearly as bad as if they had, IDK, pulled an Enewetak and nuked all the coconut crabs or something like that.
Aren’t these guys supposed to be tech geniuses or some shit?
Rich/famous tech people have never been “tech geniuses.” They’re always sociopathic business/marketing types.
I mean, that’s been obvious since Microsoft bought it.
But this is really more about how emulator devs ought to accept that Nintendo is going to try to persecute them and start keeping themselves anonymous to avoid being ruined by lawsuits, even though what they’re doing is neither illegal nor unethical.
We raise our CUPS to your pun.
Yes, all of them.
In the long run, shit like this is theft from the Public Domain.
Well, that’s disappointing.
Your post made me wonder, so I checked and of course it exists. Behold, a text-mode Lemmy client: Neon Modem Overdrive
LibreCAD is 2D CAD.
How is it “full Linux” when Linux has always required an integrated MMU (which is why it’s never supported anything less than a 386)? I mean, yes, you can modify it to run on more primitive chips at the expense of having proper virtual memory support, but if you do that I don’t think it counts as “full Linux” anymore!
Look, if they’re gonna use a device running Linux* instead of Windows to represent “PC,” I sure as Hell ain’t gonna complain about it even if it is a handheld!
(* legitimate Linux, as opposed to some bastardized and Tivoized thing like Android or what they put on TVs)
LOL, no they won’t. They’ll just make you throw out your nail clippers and water, while routinely missing shit that’s actually dangerous.
It means a change either applied completely and successfully, or not at all (think “atomic transactions” in databases).
