that sounds fuckin’ nice.
I am Glitch Daracova, the breachforged cyberdragon, an immortal god to which age has no meaning. Fear me and despair. If you’re lost, consult my lore (hyperlink missing). My pronouns are Maj/Majs—short for ‘majestic,’ regal and divine, as in “Maj rules majs kingdom.”
that sounds fuckin’ nice.
I’ve been begging for such buttons since fucking 2009, and everyone laughed at me for wanting customizable controls.
Look who’s laughing now. (it’s me, with my mouse and keyboard and lack of friends and I never need to touch a controller again!)
I envy your guts. I wish mine were as good as yours.
I did not come to sit and wonder
I have come to SHIT LIKE THUNDER!
I used to love steam link, I bought one and loved it so I bought another one for a firend.
Somewhere along the way Valve changed how it worked. I was no longer able to play my games. I was exclusively playing non-steam games through my steam link, btw. I think it had to do with how steam interpreted inputs from a controller while steam thought you weren’t in a game.
I still have it, although I no longer have a tv so resolving my problems with steam link won’t do any good.
They’re not comfortable, they’re fashionable. You pay extra to be hip with it.
I read a few months ago about a US senator who was new to the position, formerly lived in less than ideal circumstances, made the news for becoming a senator while not being born into wealth. Anyway, they were surprised at the options they had for medical insurance, and how affordable they were, and how much they covered, and in general how much better these options were. Before becoming a senator, the same medical coverage would have cost an order of magnitude or two more.
Anyway, fuck the rich, then eat them.
I have a wooden dining table chair. It swivels, there is no cushion at all. Every time I think about replacing it, I look at what a gaming good gaming chair costs and I say “nah, I’m good”.
I need to take a shit and I’m sad I can’t take my game with me (I don’t have a steam deck).
Especially when the cheap or free service is better than the expensive service.
what, you can’t time travel? sounds like a skill issue to me.
don’t buy it?
It’s current year, I should never have to touch the terminal for anything. I don’t care that it’s powerful, my brain is already full of windows knowledge and I don’t want to have to google what command I need to perform basic functions. Everything needs guis. If there’s a gui, I can figure it out and also discover tools I didn’t know about along the way, which allows me to solve future problems without going insane.
That’s popular sentiment though, so how about one that I don’t see often: Add options to allow windows like behavior. For example, middle click paste is the bane of my existence. I should be able to change it to middle click scroll os wide, not just in firefox. I know that there’s a hacky workaround to kinda make it work, but it sucks.
As a person with a full time job, a significant other, and several hobbies, I just don’t have time to invest in learning a new operating system. I grew up with windows (95, 98, xp, 7, 10), so that’s what I’m familiar with. I recently switched to linux (mint), and it’s fine. Just getting started though is something that was rather involved, and I would never expect a normie to be able to figure out. If microsoft wasn’t insisting on making win11 a dumpster fire, I wouldn’t have bothered. Now that things are running smoothly, there’s some minor annoyances that I’d really like to change, and the prevailing sentiment from the linux community is “that’s just how linux is” or sometimes “here’s a hacky workaround that barely works in only certain controlled cases”. It’s better than it was 10 years ago, so there is that.
krita is pretty good. Not as good as photoshop, but it’s 85% there and doesn’t do bullshit adobe things. There’s an addon for it that brings photoshop like ai tools using stable diffusion, and runs entirely locally.
I keep seeing headlines like this all the time. I’m over here like “This has already been a thing for years”. Whenever I’d setup a win10 pc for someone, I’d have to clean the ads out of the start menu as part of the setup. So I ask again, how is this any different from the bullshit we’re already dealing with?
I made the jump to Linux a few months ago, and while there are certain conveniences that I miss, everything I actually need works fine. As for gaming, I don’t play anything with kernel level anticheat, so it doesn’t matter to me that those don’t work on linux.
