Usual precautions apply, the app does not bury the lede:
The project is under very active development. Expect bugs and changes. Do not use it as the only way to store your photos and videos!
That’s it. Half the benefit of Plex is that my library is easily accessible on my mobile and downloadable, but Plex chose a very weird Plexamp UX for downloaded content. Instead of using the tried and true music UX, they chose a fricking list that isn’t indexed. I don’t want to use different programs or systems for the very standard ways people listen to music.
I love Plex, but Plexamp leaves a lot to be desired. In my use case, especially for folks with bad mobile service and/or spotty wifi or folks who don’t want to be hitting their servers as frequently. I just want a good UX for downloaded music off my server.
Certainly is not exciting. Not all of us follow every community/server though. Thanks for fighting the good fight. Cheers. (BTW love your username, I can hear the screams. 😆)
I just found out about it from this post. If you dont want to see the post, keep scrolling.
And if my opinion matters, that dude can get bent. It is such a small request to be inclusive. Such small requests can be so much to so many.
If it works well for you, don’t worry about it. The matrix will show what kind of support improvements you might expect over the standard kernel.
You might want to look at Surface Kernel for Linux. The link below shows their matrix of features on various Surface products and support within the Surface for Linux kernel. You would install Ubuntu and then install these updates to make Surface hardware function better. They have a lot of bespoke hardware in their laptops and tablets that aren’t supported by the Ubuntu Linux Kernel out of the gate. https://github.com/linux-surface/linux-surface/wiki/Supported-Devices-and-Features#feature-matrix
In my view that isn’t favorable. It is perhaps real, but it still doesn’t sit well as we know where it likely leads.
When you get most of your funding from Google, you might start to act like Google.
This really whips the llamas ass.
Yeah I’m no data retention expert but that is a huge risk.
