Look roads are for cars and we all did a driving test and we know how fast is safe. Numbers don’t mean anything.

I should be able to drive 60 down a residential if I think I can. If some kid gets run over then that’s their fault and their parents. Roads are for cars. What you expect me to slow down and be late for work? I was already late when I left and this is going to add minutes to my journey people just don’t think.

I know I’m a good driver, I’ve only ever got points for speeding and for drunk driving (but I was still driving well). There some fucking idiots on the road I agree but we shouldn’t all be punished. We need more roads so we can go faster that’s the real issue.

Issues with monopolies and price controls should absolutely be addressed.

But supply and demand of in demand tickets where people are choosing to pay for non vital entertainment. Paying market prices doesn’t seem an issue.

Some venues you can’t even buy a ticket because it’s all owned by corporations that give them out to mates or business interests. That’s more of a concern.

Tbf there is some differences in quality between them. Some work exactly as you want and others are annoying because they don’t do what you expect. When they work I find them a dream.

Induction works when you spill water on it, I’ve done it.

Instant heat. Excellent all over heat transfer. Doesn’t heat the room. No cancer causing pollution. Good for the environment. Specific heat control where you can set power and even temperature. Easy to clean.

It’s even so that the word heat pump only is used for the air-water units, not the air-air ones, those are called airconditioners.

The names and tech all overlap and it gets messy. But you can certainly buy an ac unit that doesn’t heat. Hence why I specified heat pump, it is a heat pump.

Oh yea. I’ve been in houses (outside the UK). Had heat pump water tank and an air to air heating (and ac) system for the house.

I’ve always wondered if you could have an air to water system that fills the tank for the taps and then heats the radiators. But also have supplementary heating air to air. Maybe a big one downstairs in the hallway or in the main room of the house.

But with the UK it always comes back to having the worst insulation in the world. Fix that and we wouldn’t even be discussing heating systems.

It’s probably always cheaper. The government is pushing for air to water. There are no subsidies for air to air which I think is a better way to heat a home.

I think most of those retrofits aren’t cheap because the pipes and radiators aren’t big enough for the colder water. So it ends up needing a whole now install anyway.

Air to air heat pumps are amazing. I’m completely converted, they are fair superior to gas.

But why the UK is pushing do hard for air to water is a mystery to me. Seems like betting on old inferior technology.

Also I don’t get why they aren’t pushing for a induction also conversion and disconnecting the gas line to the house entirely. Induction is magic, that is a way superior technology to gas cooking.

I never realised how much people want to be controlled by the government when I was younger.

I really enjoyed the summer this year. I thought it was far sunnier most of my summers. Really been enjoying the clear blue sky’s and few rainy days. Went for a hike the other day and got sun burnt though. I mean I live in NZ now but the past few months have been a better summer than a normal UK one.

The value of higher education comes from things like higher taxes and lower crime.

Trying to run a university like a business is fucking stupid.

Universities could cost the government a shit load of money for all I care. But losing British education in the name of foreign money is the exact case of short term thinking that has made this country as crap as it is.

If you want to think of some 50 year plan. It should be about educating more British students to do roles that are required. Not about bringing in foreign students to make a short term buck.

But why won’t anyone think of the cars!

It will just be like cycle lanes and bus lanes. They take up all the space that could be used by cars! There isn’t enough space for cars! All these poor taxi drivers will be dead in the gutter and ambulances won’t be able to move if we legalise e scooters. Poor old ladies that can’t walk wont be able to use their car.

What this government needs to do is ban cycling, buses, taxis, pavements, wheelchairs, and invest in roads! We should turn all our railway lines to roads let’s face it no one uses trains. This country was built on cars!

Also ban speed cameras. I can’t get anywhere as fast as I used to and it’s dangerous to have to slam on my breaks every time I see a speed camera.

People don’t work like that and there are costs your aren’t rationalising.

Things like pensions, healthcare, PTO, lower crime. But even then I think most people want to stay at home. So a large difference will cause a large movement when times are bad. But a small price difference isn’t going to cause all the UK medical staff to move like a perfect competitive market.

UK people need to be paid more, bit not the same as the US.
