I always use gimp. Just define one pixel equals one millimeter, and then make all the furnitures as separate layers so you can move them around separately. Works great!

Not niche, but surely exotic: NixOS, a distribution that is configured via a purely functional language. There is no such thing as installing or uninstalling packages, you add or remove things from your configuration and then simply apply that configuration.

Wow I didn’t know effective altruism was so bad. When someone explained me the basic idea some years ago, it sounded quite sensible. Along the lines of: “if you give a man a fish you will feed him for a day. If you teach a man how to fish, you will feed him for a lifetime.”

Congrats to them. Sad though that they had to go as low as selling their users out to AI training for that. And context sensitive advertisements in social media are also more a drag to society. But hey, they did it.
