their choices make it harder and harder to actually want to support their project. I haven’t seen a good PR release from then in ages.
Just your normal everyday casual software dev. Nothing to see here.

yea a that was my first thought, no bsky, no lemmy, no mastodon (edit: apperently has limited suppport for exclusively mastodon.social) , like are they paying attention to the trends?
this is what I do as well, along with file staging so if I corrupt it by accident I don’t lose the entire DB
Currently I have it on my server as grab only, and then normal access on my clients with staging
The music being removed from your account shit shouldn’t be legal. You paid for it they should be refunding you if they are removing access, in a perfect world anyway.
Assuming the US when I say this but, some year we’ll have consumer protections, I’ll likely be dead by then but hopefully the day will come to light.
That being said I have never heard of soul seek, it sounds like a limewire spinoff? I agree music industry has /sucked/ in terms of obtaining stuff
yea its just using the word sustain when removing something non-renewable makes me chuckle
I love how that’s tagged “sustainable mining” as if mining anything can actually be sustainable.
a retail license doesn’t even prompt that, just sign in with your MS account and bobs your uncle, that’s how I manage all of my VM stuff I just sign into my primary Microsoft account and it automatically activates, I’m sure one of these days it’s going to hit a Hidden activation limit but I’m not really sure how Windows works with that, I don’t change vm’s all that often.
My main bottleneck for swapping fully off of dual booting is the annoyance when it comes to trying to configure GPU pass through with KVM, I would definitely be using that virtual machine for gaming on the few games that no longer work using proton but like it’s such a pain in the butt to set up, that and for the duration of me having to transfer the system I basically need to have twice the amount of disk space because I need to clone that data over to an image before being able to free up the partitions
Man that post is about three or four paragraphs too long to be any Microsoft form advisor post.
Usually it’s a “Welcome to the forum, please run an update and sfc /scannow and try safe mode then clean install” then ghosting when you update saying it doesn’t work
What’s the point of sfc /scannow if it’s going to require an installation media to use, isn’t that the point of a recovery partition? Does Windows just not ship with that Anymore?
Man the audacity of that though, they came into his house, interrupted his evening and then asked him to turn off the stream that he’s doing. All while he didn’t actually do anything wrong.
The entitlement is insane.
I had to read the title a few times myself, it’s long and most of it could go into the body
tails is a great tool for privacy I always found it more clunky to use sadly, but it’s use case as a no log no track style is is amazing. Just don’t try to use it with anything that uses external storage, it has a cow.
I’ve actively told any friend that send me a voice note that if you want me to respond to you don’t send it as a voice note, I won’t listen to it. It requires me to put headphones in or play it on speaker, and neither of those are happening unless it’s important.
hard agree, voice messages are the worst of both worlds, you can’t look at it and get the gist of what’s said, and you have to deal with listening to it, while requiring more bandwidth to use.
I’ve told my friends instead of pressing the voice button, just press the speech to text button, I’m more likely to read a wall of text than listen to a voice message.
also keep in mind for people not on windows, namecheaps API only functions for business grade, and also is not clearly documented, there is a “dynamic dns setup page” but it isn’t up to date. I find myself trying to use openwrt’s DDNS pages for it but it still isn’t accurate, I am likely going to transfer elsewhere when im closer to the end of my lease. This API restriction also prevents you from easily automating your SSL process using letsencrypt as you are locked down to subdomain based entries instead of wildcard domains.
Lesson learned, they regularly do this if you have a website that one of their crawlers hit as active. If you really care about it check in about a year later, chances are if you havent inquired within a year they’ll release the domain and you can pay normal sale price for it
Crunchyroll has a comment section? I had seem ratings but never looked at the comments
Very true, I was meaning more from a users standpoint, they spend money on the posts for people to see it, if everyone leaves they won’t spend money on it, and what little advertisers they have left will bail or lower what they are willing to pay as well.
I really do think his end goal is just a full shutdown, but he wants to do it a little at a time because if he just nukes it, one he’s out a lot of money
I hard disagree with that actually, there are a lot of people on the platform that Karma dive and intentionally try to do post that will up their interaction. But if you remove those systems then they’re not going to care about the platform anymore. Not that those people are adding good content to the platform in the first place but they will leave the platform to find other areas due to this change
how the hell are they going to judge engagement, like that’s the number one thing most of their user base wants is the ability to feel special and popular
honestly I would be for same monitor configurations myself
having to do the same setup on all 3 is so annoying
