Against the Storm.
I played a lot back when it came out. I picked up the DLC on release day and reset my progress. Such a good game. Even when I’m not playing (like now) I’m thinking and reading up on strategies.
Because I already bought the game. Why should I have to pay more based on where I play it? That’s ridiculous. If I buy it, I should be able to play it how and where I want.
Yikes, kinda expensive on mobile. I already repackaged it from my Steam copy and side-loaded it on to my phone so I’ll stick with that. It would be nice if I could keep my progress from one to the other though.
No, which is another point in favour of Linux.
You could test that by disabling the DLC temporarily. Click on the game in your list and scroll down on the game page until you see the DLC widget on the right side. Click “manage my DLC” and uncheck Phantom Liberty. Then run the game. You can re-enable the DLC again the same way.
I jumped in with both feet this winter. I’d finally had enough of MS’s bullshit and couldn’t bear to use Win11. I built a new system and installed Mint and I’m loving it. I’ve only had very minor issues with the system itself or with gaming on Steam or Heroic.
I never really used their previous client. I liked the control of doing it manually and found it got in the way.
I’m glad to hear they’re working Linux support in to this new version though.
I would love Winamp on Linux. I just switched off Windows this year and I haven’t been able to find a media player I liked yet. I haven’t tried qmmp though.
They’ve got strong DRM (Divine Rights Management)
Do you stick them under your keyboard, or to the edge of your monitor?
Would you recommend just getting the base game, or is it worth getting the Community of Planets Edition with the DLCs included? Do they add much to the game?
I didn’t even know the launch price but when they asked what would make the game a must-buy that there would be no way I would buy the game on launch and would wait 5+ years to buy a complete edition for a reasonable price.
