  • Google is still working on improving the Terminal app as well as AVF before shipping this feature. AVF already supports graphics and some input options, but it’s preparing to add support for backing up and restoring snapshots, nested virtualization, and devices with an x86_64 architecture.

This is the part I cared about. Can it run x86_64 programs, or is it just an ARM-compatible version of Debian?

If it can actually run x86_64 programs on ARM devices, then that’s kinda fucking sick and would likely help the world transition to ARM. Like, fuck Google, but this sounds like a good thing, maybe?

  • Especially with America’s history of large and successful inventions spawning from garages much like in the UK coming from small garden sheds all starting from barely-working prototypes.

It’s funny you’ve mentioned this, because I’ve also heard that American tourists have a reputation for not only enjoying queues like y’all in the UK, but will also form queues where one doesn’t exist. I fully believe this too, because I don’t think I’ve ever seen Americans form a mob except when we’re protesting, rioting, or it’s Black Friday. Otherwise, people will just automatically form lines. They’ll even join lines when they have no idea what the line is for. I honestly question whether queues are even necessary in this country because we seem to just do it automatically lol.

Anyway, as for the slang terms,

    I like “Mithering”.

“Naff” - may be a bit difficult to adapt; something about it feels off in my mouth. It’d probably end up mangled if adopted.

“Bodge”/“Bodged” - I think this is where the term “botch-job” came from, which refers to something thrown together sloppily or carelessly in the US. As such, it’d have to buck its reputation first. Otherwise it’d probably be pretty popular as a “classy” way of saying “jerry-rigged” (basically anything from the UK tends to be viewed as being “classy” in the US, except for when it isn’t; don’t ask me why, I don’t know lol).

  • As someone is very much not cisgender, I look at it and go “Well, isn’t every FTM going to pick Body Type A with male pronouns while MTFs like myself go with Body Type B with female pronouns? Who outside of a Far Right Troll trying and failing to be funny is gonna pick the buff bearded dude and select the she/her pronouns?”

Me! What do you have against bearded, manly ladies? They’re awesome!

It is kinda lazy to have “full masculine” and “full feminine” as your only choices while pretending they aren’t just “male” or “female”, but at the same time, I think it’s a step in the right direction. Today the options might be “not-man” and “not-woman”, but the future might have “not-man”, “not-woman”, “man-woman” and “woman-man”!

  • I think I came off harsher than I meant to, I’m sorry about that. Your key caps are legitimately beautiful and I’ve been appreciating them from afar since I first saw them on MassDrop back when it first launched (sadly I haven’t had the money to buy any).

I think the thing that seemed off was that it looks like you’re trying to fit rectangular pieces into a non-rectangular space. It might have been better if you’d tried to warp the pieces to follow the shape of the key. It’d probably be a lot harder to do, but it’d also (hopefully) look stunning.

On a different note: have you considered starting a sister company that does mass-produced key caps in a similar style? I have a hard time justifying a single key cap in my current financial situation, but I might be able to justify saving up for a key set if it’s like, <$150~ish.

Also, you should totally look into incorporating lab gems into your work. I only know of one company where you can get them at a decent price (Turtle’s Hoard), but there may be others out there (the reason why they’re cheaper is because they sell cast-offs that couldn’t be used for scientific purposes).
