I don’t how easy it is to install non steam games. I know it’s possible but takes some more messing around.

This is still a thing? I used this in the age of AIM and didn’t know it stuck around past the shutdown

A lot work, but some of those are with an asterisk.

E.g., dyson sphere program, a factory game, is listed as playable. But, there’s no steam cross-play - so you can’t have the same save file on your PC and deck. And that game is computation heavy so I doubt if it would work well. Or Fez: I tried launching a few different ways, but it hard crashed. I’m sure there’s some way to fix it, but I didn’t bother to find out.

All that being said, I haven’t touched my gaming PC in months because the pause / resume feature is so convenient for getting gaming in, 15 minutes at a time.

The idea of replaying recent gameplay to see what happened is great.

The mbkhd video of the fisker was rough. A whole bunch of minor annoyances and he calls it the worst thing he’s ever reviewed.

Look at the estimated runtime and decide for yourself

Stardew valley. Set tdp to lowest it can go. Doesn’t affect performance. I was getting like an 8 hr runtime estimate.

Linux noob here… But aren’t there user types? Like admin with install permissions and user type without ? Doesn’t that take care of most of your questions?

Am I right that android/iOS apps require much more maintenance than PC programs? I can load up a copy of WinZip from 2000 and it would work fine, but anything that hasn’t been updated in a few years might be hidden on the app store for not working with my version.
I think that’s the bigger issue. Developers can’t leave stuff up and just let it sit, because you need to maintain a developer acct to have anything listed, and os updates break things
