Can I ‘yes, and’ that with the point that simply giving more money to poor people is now pretty well established to be good for both them and the economy

For once I’m #1 in something 🥳
If care to argue that you’re normal, you’re not the good kind of weird.
I have no tech background, and I am just getting into creating a media server. I started with an old secondhand Synology NAS, which developed a power issue within a month and no chance of returning it or getting it covered by warranty.
My current plan is to get another Synology NAS (new with extended warranty this time), along with a spare HDD enclosure so I can have an extra layer of redundancy, finally set up Jellyfin, and then I want to build a Pihole. At that point I won’t need much more self hosting or networking tricks until further notice.
Still have no idea what I’m doing.
Thanks, that does sound more reasonable than the impression I had.
I am here to reiterate that Sir Starmer’s idea of increasing the number of police would be a fundamentally flawed reaction.
Edit: the point is kindly rescinded - I do best when I stay in my wheelhouse
The electorate has been far too tolerant of this behaviour. I don’t get why it’s been allowed to go on like this, other than the poor state of journalism these days.
An A4 sized e-ink tablet with colour and an open source OS would be my dream gadget.
The Tories’ best chance of making a comeback was always to obstruct or lessen any future Labour wins. If their goal was to leave a mess and then force someone else to clean it up, it’s hard to see what they would have done differently.
Old StumbleUpon was everything to me
2.0 is playing clean as fuck. Very pleased.
That is good to hear. Thanks for being understanding, I definitely have some baggage to unload. It’s really intense over there. I would love to stop thinking about it for a while, if I could.
You’re not far wrong. I know American politics too well for my own good, but I am still getting to grips with UK politics. Give me a decade or so, I’m a distractible student.
The thing you need to understand about this “neo reactionary” breed of conservatives is that the only way you’re going to get a really good relationship with them is by joining them in rejecting the international rules based order. He’s an actual American monarchist.
Since that would be a terrible outcome for the world, I would prefer to see us striking a balance of openness but not outright warmth.
I would like the Labour government, for whom I voted, not to toady an ethnonationalist - but I guess that’s Numberwang.
The list of specific ways Republicans differ from literal Nazis has been shrinking for more than the last two decades and there’s barely anything left, but sure, it’s fine that this Labourite is toadying a guy who definitely drops a hard R among friends.
Echoed the ghost of Neville Chamberlain…
Jesus wept. This is not the Labour I was hoping for. And I had pretty minimal expectations, to be clear.
Good for him
It’s an issue. All I can say is that change has to come from within, and for me that means being more willing to “march with” lefties I don’t always agree with, as long as there’s something important we do agree about. If someone’s a bit tank-ish, I’ll gladly shake their hand when it comes to voting for proportional representation, for example.
