Not only that, but people think we’re about to have a left wing government (mostly because the media tells them so, and school didn’t teach them any better), and when nothing changes (at best) they’re going to use it as “proof” that leftism doesn’t work and fall in to the hands of even further right populists, rather than face the reality - that they’ve just elected more of the same, and that the system was designed to never serve us, only the establishment.
At least pretend to want what’s best for the country, if he expects to be given the reigns to it?
We had the mountain of evidence of how bad it would be before it happened, now we’ve been at it for a couple of years and every single negative prediction has come true. Saying he not only won’t try to mend the situation himself, but that no one will/should in his lifetime (I assume he gives himself at least another 25-30 years), is telling you he doesn’t give a fuck about the wellbeing of the country nor its people, only about those in power who are loving being able to abuse us more as citizens without the EU and their damn human rights looking over their shoulder…

I agree, and also think that trans voices should be the only relevant ones to the conversation, but at this point I wouldn’t feel safe completely ignoring the voices of the oppressors, especially not those in power, because that won’t stop them and the very real life impact they have, only fighting back will (I do get burn out though, and when you’re personally impacted taking a step back to try and get a break from all the shit is perfectly valid).

Lmmfao, ok, if we’re going for context, you’ve managed to conveniently leave out a massive bit of it - that Sir Starmer, the current Labour leader and as much a part of the establishment as any Tori politician is, has not only publicly declared transphobic shit like men = penis woman = vagina, but is now also taking advice from Joanne herself, after she called him out for not being a big enough terf, and he in turn and without even blinking, willingly obliged to prove her wrong (and that he aspires to be just as prolific a transphobe as she is).
The idea that only Tories are responsible for the institutionalised transphobia in this country, and that blue Labour is going to do anything but continue toeing exactly the same line, is not only laughable, but glaringly and wilfully ignorant.

It might be compelling, but that doesn’t make it true (the testosterone in puberty part, not the sports organisations using transphobic rhetoric part, though as you can see bellow, even the International Olympic Committee, arguably the biggest global sports organisation, doesn’t advocate this thinking)
