The problem is in the UK our houses are often made out of rock with even less insulative properties than the plywood and cardboad the americans use. Usually all you get is double glazing, seals around the doors and maybe some attic insulation.

Tried to force through a budget that brought the UK within hours of a greek style total economic collapse until the bank of England stepped in to unfuck things because it was just going to be that bad if they didn’t.

We’re free from stupid shit like mandatory free warranties on electronics, or chicken that doesn’t taste like the physical incarnation of sadness, or fresh vegetables where you don’t have to throw half away right after you buy it!

Of course, when the ship is sinking we should reduce its weight by removing the bottom.

We fund our militay pretty well but we we waste so much of that money on overpaying for shit from a tiny group of certified contractors who then proceed to fuck up anyway.

I feel like if we want national service just make it part of scouts… in fact the UK already has a scout summer camp thing thats basically kiddies first army training. Its just rather expensive. If instead we made it free and maybe even incentivized (Army scouts = summer camp + your first part time job?) it’d firstly be voluntary and secondly we’d have a way better recruiting pool for the actual army when people get older. The lack of commitment would also mean people maybe not interested in the army but curious can give it a try and at the very least the people who went would come back moderately fitter and able to serve in a militia in the unlikely event the UK mainland is ever invaded.

Definetaly the video games, not TV or the shelves covered in brightly coloured alcopops with names directly marketed at kids.
