I’m a big fan of Jami too. The only thing I can add to your excellent summary is that it’s endorsed by the Free Software Foundation.
You’re right about it being fussy with clients though.
Another +1 for YUNOhost. I went from zero experience self-hosting to having my own email, fediverse instance, file server and several websites on a VPS. I would never have had the patience to figure this out without it.

It could be anything. Scandals and treachery are as old as politics itself and no party is immune to it.
I highly recommend Ardour. I haven’t used Ubuntu Studio but I believe it’s pre-configured to minimise latency when monitoring audio.
Most people on the Ardour forum recommend AVlinux for this reason too. I’m sure you will be fine with Ubuntu Studio but I would definitely check AVlinux.

I disagree: I think that having two dedicated democratic socialist parties brings more attention to the movement as a whole and increases its gravity. It also means that if one of the two parties gets clobbered for whatever reason then we are not instantly made politically homeless, like when Corbyn got taken down as Labour leader. When the Your Party launch was fudged we could join the Greens because by then they had emerged as a credible and legitimate leftwing party. The more success we have on the left as a whole the better at this stage IMO.

Don’t let the cynicism get the better of you comrade.

It won’t be up to him. It’s not even a given that he will be selected for a leadership role (although he probably will be). Do bear in mind that he compromised on some of his own positions as Labour leader to reflect the membership too.

I’m a member and look forward to getting the procedures in place at conference to prevent this sort of stuff happening again in future.
It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be a part of the founding of a political party that aligns with my values and if it all goes tits up with Your Party I’m glad that Greens will be right there. If it all goes tits up with the Greens we will have Your Party. Both are currently prepared to cooperate electorally (and I’ll be voting in favour of this as a member) and I think both parties would vote in favour of a coalition if the time came.

If they would have him after bitching about him all the time for their so-called “Boris Wave” of immigration.
He’s a liability for other reasons too and would draw the sort of heat on things like Brexit and corruption that they would rather not have have to explain themselves about.
They should totally get him on board.

Definitely interested - post updates!

Why are they downvoting then?

I didn’t say it wouldn’t matter. I said it wouldn’t matter as much.

I really respect your comittment to using þorns here, even though it means people probably down vote you because they don’t know what’s going on.
Just wanted to let you know. Keep it up :)

This wouldn’t matter so much if 1) Arts Council funding hadn’t been decimated under austerity and 2) Working class people could afford to buy art.
The pool of people who can afford to keep the arts alive is rapidly diminishing. I work with artists and see this week in week out but it’s the same with everything.
Rich man moves to the village and everyone goes to work for him.

AFAIK If you host GotoSocial it links out to the instances where content is hosted, rather than downloading it as a copy. I have a single-user instance on a tiny VPS and it uses hardly any resources. I think part of the reason for that is the above. You have to use a client application with it because there is no web interface, which I think is partly why it is so lightweight.
Might be worth looking at if you’re concerned about accidentally hosting things you don’t want.

He is right. I highly recommend reading Good Cop, Bad War by Neil Woods, who was an undercover police officer working on drugs busts and is scathing about the negative effects of the ‘War On Drugs’.
On a political level Zack Polanski is smart to get this out of the way early in the election cycle. Still, most of the people who will be up in arms about this are old Tories and will be therefore voting for Reform anyway.

Latest YouGov polling shows that the Green Party are now leading the polls for under-50s.
Reform are resonating incredibly powerfully, for old people.
I totally agree.
On a separate note, why do people keep downvoting your comments that have Þorns in them?
