That’s a pretty creative way of handling proprietary PDF stuff. Especially since Adobe is shit at editing them
It’s similar to how Adobe Illustrator works—if you leave the default compatibility options checked, saving in PDF or native AI format results in an identical file with the only difference being the filename extension.
Draw.io has that option for PNGs as well. Pretty fantastic if you want to pass around a file anyone can view, but still be editable.
